CONFIGURING YOUR SONY ERICSSON PHONE MANUALLY
THE LIKES OF K700 K750 K800 ETC

STAGE ONE

1. Click on MENU
2. Click on SETTINGS
3. Scroll to left or right until you get to CONNECTIVITY
4. Scroll down or up to DATA COMM.
5. Click on DATA ACCOUNTS.
6. Click on NEW ACCOUNT.
7. Choose GPRS DATA.
8. Give the account the network name you intend using, eg: MTN
9. Use the default network details I provided below to configure.

FOR MTN
APN: web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
USERNAME: web
PASSWORD: web

FOR ZAIN
APN: internet.ng.zain.com
USERNAME: internet
PASSWORD: internet

FOR ETISALAT
APN: etisalat
USERNAME: (LEAVE IT BLANK)
PASSWORD: (LEAVE IT BLANK)

NOTE: No need to create more than one Data Account for a particular network. I.e. Every different MTN SETTING FOR JAVA should use that same MTN data account.
After all this it will inform you (NEW GPRS DATA ACCOUNT CREATED)

10. Click on Edit
11. Scroll down to Authentication.
12. Mark only PAP (Unmark the rest)
13. Choose OK. (Now You Are Done With The First Process)

STAGE TWO

1. Click on MENU
2. Click on SETTINGS
3. Scroll to left or right until you get to CONNECTIVITY
4. Scroll down to SETTINGS FOR JAVA(Profile)
5. Click on NEW PROFILE.
6. Give the profile a Name by clicking ADD. E.g.: MTN 080.254 (for easy identification of the configuration carrying a particular IP). Then say OK.
7. Scroll to CONNECT USING.
8. Choose the Data Account you created in STAGE ONE. NOTE: No need to create more than one Data Account for a particular network. I.e. Every different MTN SETTING FOR JAVA should use that same MTN data account.
9. SAVE
10. Locate your newly created Profile.
11. Choose MORE
12. Choose SETTINGS
13. Scroll down to use proxy and SELECT YES
14. Scroll down to PROXY ADDRESS. NOTE: some time it is called IP.
15. Put in the value of the latest working PROXY (IP).
16. Scroll down to PORT, put in the value of your PORT (mostly 80)
17. Scroll down to USERNAME and PASSWORD use the one relevant to the network.
18. SAVE
19. SELECT it(this will choose it as your default java application browsing configuration.
